BACKGROUND

Dr Raffy Halim completed his medical degree from Monash University in 2008, having already decided on critical care as a career. His anaesthetic training was undertaken at Monash Health with a varied fellowship working with CareFlight and Royal Flying Doctors throughout Queensland and tertiary level paediatric anaesthesia at the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in Perth.

He currently works as a staff specialist at Western Health while also working at a variety of private hospitals in Melbourne. While he has a broad interest in all types of anaesthesia, his specific fields of interest are paediatrics, thoracics and regional anaesthesia.

Having recently completed a Visiting Scholar placement at Stanford University focusing on AI & Innovation in Healthcare, he has been invited back to teach at the annual SASI Course at Stanford University for the past 3 years

Outside of clinical work, he enjoys learning to program in Python and is an avid photographer.
