Background:
I qualified in Medicine in 2010 in London, United Kingdom at University College London. After completing my training at several hospitals in Central London I decided to pursue a career in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and then in late 2016 we decided to move to Australia where I was fortunate to be able to continue with my anaesthetic training at major hospitals across Melbourne.
In 2020 I started my provisional fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at Royal Melbourne Hospital followed by a second fellowship in Cardiothoraic Anaesthesia & Liver Transplant at Austin Health, where I gained my accreditation for Transoesophgeal Echocardiography (TOE).
By the end of 2021 we decided to move back to the UK and I was very fortunate to be appointed as a Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, Cardiac Intensive Care & ECMO Retrieval at Royal Papworth NHS Foundation Trust in Cambridge UK, which is the largest cardiac surgical centre in the UK.
Here I was able to provide anaesthesia for patients undergoing Heart & Lung Transplants, Major Aortic Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and establish patients on Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation. It was an absolute privilege to be part of such an institution and given me skills, knowledge and experience that I decided to bring back to Australia. In late 2023 I moved back to Melbourne and was appointed a Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the Victorian Heart Hospital.
